Industry leader to drive international growth of coding operations as regional director of coding and consulting services

H.I.M. ON CALL, a technology-enabled medical coding, audit, revenue and clinical documentation improvement services company for hospitals and health systems, announces its expansion of health information management (HIM) consulting and coding services in Canada. The announcement was made by the company’s President, Joseph J. Gurrieri, RHIA, CHP, H.I.M. ON CALL.

“2016 was a momentous year for ICD-10 implementation in the US, and for the coding and consulting services we provide to healthcare organizations. We recently added new coding experts to support our growth in coding audits and assessments,” said Gurrieri. “Now, as we look to the future, expanding our services in Canada who has over ten year’s experience in ICD-10 gives customers a unique blended offering of U.S. and Canadian expertise.”

The expansion in Canada will be spearheaded by H.I.M. ON CALL’s newest team member, Deb Tetreault, RHIT, CHIM, as regional director of coding and consulting services.

“We’re excited to add Deb to our Canadian office as she and her team bring a vast array of HIM, coding, consulting and data analysis experience that will positively expand our footprint of onsite and remote coding and consulting services,” said Gurrieri. As regional director of coding and consulting services, Tetreault is responsible for leading the growth, development and operations of these services throughout Canada and parts of the United States. “Her experience with coding, data quality, chart audits and physician documentation will be a valuable asset for healthcare organizations.”

Tetreault brings over 30 years of experience in the HIM industry in data collection, data quality monitoring and data standard development, working both internally and externally with hospitals in the U.S. and Canada. Her various roles include positions with the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, working with acute care hospitals in Ontario on data collection compliance. She was also part of the team who developed the Professional Practice Evaluation Assessment Tool (PPEAT); a Ministry of Health and Long Term Care Initiative to evaluate coding throughout Ontario  Tetreault has expertise in developing data quality tools and educational resources, and is  considered a subject matter expert with the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA) and the Ontario HIM Chapter where she has led Data Quality Coding Educational Sessions through the province for over ten years.
