8.28.09 – Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC) for Region C will Visit Puerto Rico

The Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC) for Region C, Connolly Consulting Associates Inc., will be offering a presentation to the Puerto Rico Medicare fee-for-service hospital providers on October 23, 2009. This presentation is part of the CMS RAC provider outreach plan and will be hosted by the Puerto Rico Hospital Association (PRHA) through their annual convention program. The PRHA annual convention will be held on October 21-24, 2009 at the Caribe Hilton hotel in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

The Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC) program is a cost containment effort aimed to reduce improper payments within Medicare programs and identify process improvements to reduce/eliminate future improper payments. Region C consists of the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Missouri, North Carolina, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, and the territories of Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands.
